NB Lemnaceae is now treated under Araceae as subfamily Lemnoideae.
Morphological description
Minute aquatic floating annual herbs; usually fronds round, connected into small groups.
Inflorescence
Inflorescence of 1 female and 2 male naked flowers enclosed by a spathe.
Different from: other.
Distribution: The family is cosmopolitan. In Malesia 3 genera: Lemna, Spirodela and Wolffia.
Notes: The family is also placed in the Araceae.
