Clusiaceae were in the past often treated as Guttiferae, a name that is also valid (nom.cons.). Many genera from the Guttiferae were placed in other families. In this sense Clusiaceae can be seen as Guttiferae s.s.. In this key Garcinia is one of the genera belonging to this group.
